Asia Cup 2023 tournament will be the 16^th edition of the Asia Cup. The tournament was started in the year 1984, and India was the winner of the first edition. Following India’s win in the first edition, so far, 15 tournaments have been played since then. Now the sixteenth tournament is on the way, and Pakistan is the hosting country. It is scheduled to begin in September 2023 as a preparatory tournament for the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

Six countries will take part in the Asia Cup tournament this year, including the five full members, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal, joining for this year’s Asia Cup 2023. Asia Cup Hosting Controversy 2023

We have already let you know that this time Pakistan is going to host the tournament after many obligations finally. As prior to the confirmation, India is not ready to play the tournament in Pakistan. After this, Pakistan threatened to boycott the 2023 World Cup if India did not ready to play in Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja also said that if their hosting rights are taken back due to India’s unwillingness to travel to Pakistan, they will consider Pakistan pulling out of the tournament because of India.

It seems that it is a tough time for the Pakistan Cricket Board because recently, England men’s and women’s teams also cancelled the Pakistan tour due to security reasons. Hence the PCB was disappointed with the decision. Nevertheless, Pakistan is going to host the Asia Cup 2023 tournament and all things are settled now, and India finally agreed to play the Asia Cup 2023 in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has not released the venue of the Asia Cup tournament so far. The ICC has listed Pakistan as the hosting country of the 16^th edition of the Asia Cup 2023.
