The NTA (National Testing Agency) conducts the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG annually. The CUET UG examination was scheduled from 21 May 2023 to 24 May 2023 all over India. But, as per the latest notification released by NTA, the examination has been postponed in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir, and the dates have been shifted to 26 May 2023.

UGC Chairman Mr M. Jagadesh Kumar has released an official statement regarding the postponement of the CUET UG examination 2023 in UT of J&K. He stated that NTA has sent a mail to each aspirant on their registered email ID attaching the Public Notice notifying rescheduling of CUET UG – 2023 for the aspirants of UT of Jammu & Kashmir. As a result, the CUET UG – 2023 will be conducted from 26 Mazy 2023 onwards. 

NTA CUET Postponed Public Notice 

National Testing Agency (NAT) released a public notice on 19 May 2023 stating the rescheduling of CUET (UG) – 2023 for the aspirants of UT of Jammu & Kashmir. The notice stated that the CUET (UG) – 2023 examination scheduled from 21 May 2023 to 25 May 2023 is cancelled in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. 

Due to an astonishing increase in the number of registered aspirants as compared to last year, the examination conduction dates have been postponed. Eighty-seven thousand three hundred nine (87,309) aspirants from UT of Jammu & Kashmir have registered for the CUET (UG) – 2023. As a result, NTA is exploring the possibility of creating temporary centres in J&K to provide all the facilities to the aspirants appearing for the examination. Because of the same, the CUET (UG) – 2023 will now be conducted from 26 May 2023 onwards in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. 

NTA has also released a press note earlier regarding clarifying CUET (UG) 2023 Centres in Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, and Manipur because aspirants worry about the allotted examination centre’s distant locations. They are being allotted examination centres in faraway places despite opting for the centres closer to their homes.
