Droupadi Murmu Bio
She is the country’s second female president and the first president born in Independent India. Droupadi Murmu belongs to the tribal community, and she is serving as the youngest president. Before this post, she was the 8th governor of Jharkhand in the year 2015 to 2021.
From 2000 to 2009, she was a member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly from the Rairangpur Assemble constituency and also the Minister of State from 2000 to 2004, but before her political career, she was working totally different work. In the Irrigation and Power department, she worked as a clerk from the year 1979 to 1983 and also as a teacher from 1994 to 1997.

While in her school life, her name was changed several times, including Durpadi and Dorpdi. Her husband’s name is Shyam Charam Murmu, a banker with whom she married in 1980. They had two sons and a daughter, but in the period of 7 years from 2009 to 2015, her husband, both sons, mother, and brother passed.

Droupadi Murmu was born into the Santali family, which is an Austroasiatic-speaking Munda ethnic group. This tribe is the biggest in terms of population found in the states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, and Assam. This Tribe is also found in the northern part of Bangladesh, which is the Rajshahi Division and Rangpur Division.
