The Congress government executes Gruha Lakshmi Scheme in Karnataka in the state to provide financial help to the women of the state. By saying women, we mean housewives, landless women, agricultural women, and unemployed women within the state.

There is no discrimination in the scheme based on the caste and religion of women. All the women belonging to any caste can apply to take benefit of the yojana. But only one woman from one family can take advantage of the scheme. 

Under the scheme, a sum of Rs 2000 per month is credited to the accounts of the eligible women who have done their registration under the scheme. Each year, a total of 24000 is transferred to the account of the female head of the family. The amount is straightaway transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. There is no restraint on the way women spend their money. They can use their money for whatever they wish to spend.

Women who wish to participate in the Yojana must register on its official website. Women who are doing government jobs will not take benefits from the scheme.
