The most-ambitious airport project’s foundation stone was set on February 18 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL), which is under the leadership of the Adani Group, is creating this project. This new construction project is being built in three phases by CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation). With two 3700m x 60m runways, the Navi Mumbai International Airport facility will be able to handle 10 million passengers a year once the first phase is complete, 25 million the year after that, and finally 60 million a year by 2032.
A 25 million passenger annual capacity is expected for the first phase. The third phase of construction will bring it to its full potential, which will let it to handle more than 90 million passengers yearly.
The apron area at the Navi Mumbai International Airport is 720,000 square feet, the terminal is 180,000 square feet, and there is space for 10 code C aircraft in the parking area. The new airport will have two runways spaced 1.55 kilometres apart, each spanning an area of 1,160 hectares.

The domestic freight terminal will be spread around 3,60,000 square feet (33,000 square metres), while the international cargo terminal will be spread across 2,55,000 square feet (23,700 square metres) at the Navi Mumbai International Airport.
The airport will be made to be extremely energy and environmentally friendly thanks to the latest technology. The station will only use electric vehicles, and all of its activities will be run by green electricity produced on-site by solar energy.

From last 30 years we are talking about New Mumbai Airport. Come on India please make official visits to GCC countries specially the UAE and learn from them how to complete a project. Please check also on how the toll is handled. Cars on toll roads drive at 120 KM speed from last 15 to 20 years. We are 50 years behind these small countries.

Sewri to Ulway 21 km connecting Bridge 🌉 is also ready ( 20 minutes commuting ) hence once All Permissions by International Aviation Regulators and Aviation Ministry is recieved as per international Standards , Flight operations may start during this G-20 Presidency .

This airport project started way back in 1997. Now we are in 2023 and as per the report it says it will be ready only in 2024. Dont you think we took too much a time in getting it done. Anyway i wish all the very best to the Airport Authorities of India
Till 2014, it was on paper only. Later on real work started & hopefully will be ready by 2024 end.
We hope First Flights from the new NM International Airport, say Air Vistara, Air Asia, Singapore Airlines to start by year end or Early next year, During the G-20 Summits and Global Conferences
