PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2023 was recently launched on September 17 by the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. PM Vishwakarma Yojana aims to provide support to craftspersons and traditional artisans in scaling up their services and products.

Registered artisans and craftspersons will be recognized as “Vishwakarma” and ultimately become eligible for numerous benefits provided under the Vishwakarma Yojana. Benefits, including skill upgradation, a platform for brand promotion, support for modern tools, and many other benefits, can be availed by registered artisans and craftspersons.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Registration 2023

The registrations for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2023 opened on September 17. Moreover, the artisans and craftspersons who are looking to complete the registration under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme should read all the eligibility guidelines and other crucial aspects of this Central Sector Scheme.

The following trades are eligible to apply for this scheme – Boat Maker, Blacksmith, Carpenter, Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Armourer, Locksmith, Goldsmith, Potter, Sculptor/Stone breaker/Stone carver, Mason, Basket Maker/ Basket Waver: Coir Weaver/Mat maker/ Broom maker, Fishing Net Maker, Barber, Garland Maker, Doll & Toy Maker, Cobbler/Footwear artisan/Shoesmith, Washerman, and Tailor.

According to the Vishwakarma Yojana’s eligibility guidelines, the beneficiary –

  • Must be 18 years old on the registration date.
  • Must be engaged in one of the mentioned 18 family-based traditional trades.
  • Must not have taken any loan under similar Central/State Credit-based schemes for business development/self-employment.
  • Only one member of a family can register for the Vishwakarma Yojana.
  • Any individual involved in Government Service, as well as their family members, are ineligible for this yojana.

The portal for completing the registrations and learning about the Vishwakarma Yojana has been opened by the MoMSME. Individuals who fall into the eligibility criteria for the Vishwakarma Yojana can apply through this portal.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana benefits 2023

The benefits include –

  • Recognition
    • A PM Vishwakarma Certificate and ID Card will be provided to the registered beneficiaries.
    • The Vishwakarma ID Card will have a unique number like any other identity card.
    • Moreover, both physical and digital ID Card will be provided.
  • Skill Upgradation
    • One of the primary objectives of this scheme is to upgrade the skills of the beneficiaries.
    • It has two main parts – Skill Assessment and Advanced Training.
    • The registered beneficiaries will have to undergo a Skill Assessment. This will help them in determining the current skill level of the registered artisans and craftspersons.
    • This will be followed by Basic training. Various experienced and certified trainers will conduct basic training over 5 to 7 days.
    • Furthermore, if the beneficiaries are interested in pursuing further skill upgradation, they can opt for Advanced training.
    • Advanced Training will be about 15 days or 120 hours and will be conducted at designated training centers.
    • In addition, a stipend of INR 500/day will be given to the beneficiaries undergoing the basic and advanced training.
  • Toolkit Incentive
    • At the beginning of the Basic Training, the beneficiaries will be given INR 15,000 as a toolkit incentive.
    • The beneficiaries can use this incentive to obtain improved toolkits from designated centers.
  • Credit Support
    • The total loan amount will be INR 3 Lakhs.
    • However, it cannot be availed all at once. The beneficiaries can get the 1st tranche of up to 1 Lakh and the 2nd tranche of up to 2 Lakhs.
  • Digital Transaction Incentive
    • An amount of INR 1 per eligible digital transaction (max 100 transactions/month) will be credited to the account.
  • Marketing Support
    • It includes – Quality Certification, Branding and Promotion, E-commerce, Market Linkages, Exporters and Traders, Trade Fairs, and Assistance for the collective display of PM Vishwakarma Products.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Last Date 2023

The last date to apply for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana 2023 has not been revealed/announced by the MoMSME. Beneficiaries can avail of the benefits by completing 4 main steps – Verification, filling the registration form, getting the certificate, and applying for different components.

In just 2 days of its launch, about 18 applications have been received on the PM Vishwakarma Portal. The last date (if any) will be notified on the authorized PM Vishwakarma portal.
